Following confirmation to all parties involved I would like to further extend the notice, that it is with extensive deliberation within our organisation and deep regret that I have had to cancel our planned event “Maud’s Baby Show” in Wrexham on 9th and 10th October.
This is the first event that I have had to ever cancel or postpone and would just like the opportunity to further express that it has not been done lightly or without great remorse our end. As an organisation we do not ever want to be seen as ever disappointing either our involved exhibitors or attending parents.
Following vast speculation and the open and honest approach of our organisation, I felt it necessary for everyone to take a few moments to explain further the reasons behind the decision.
Due to an extremely difficult year personally having to battle with severe health issues and then the recent discovery of being pregnant with twins I personally have had no option but to be absent from the organisations activities and with the subsequent members of staff having now gone off on maternity leave. Due to no fault of theirs, the small number of remaining adequately trained members of staff are unable to logistically continue with the event to the high standards and attention to detail that is required of our organisations events. After putting my heart and soul into these events for the past years the last thing I want or would feel comfortable about doing is employing additional staff or using trainee / junior members of staff to simply make up numbers or be in charge of running important aspects of admin just to host the event, as the end result would not be the best it could be or should be and therefore I would not be 100% confident in putting both mine and the organisations name to it.
All parties involved have supportively comprehended the reasons behind my decision of which I appreciate; it’s one of those things in life where I must put mine and my unborn twin’s health before business. And remain true to my values and reasons I truly host these events - the importance of putting on a fantastic and well loved show for the visiting parents.
Once again I would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused, to any parents and all parties involved. I know the interest was extensive within the North Wales area but sincerely hope that everyone can too comprehend the reasons behind my decision. I can assure everyone that every effort has been made to give as much advance notice as possible. I would like to thank everyone for their continued interest and support of Maud’s Baby Show and all the genuinely lovely messages I have received, it is a very daunting position to be extending my family from 3 kiddie winkles to 5 alone, without the other health worries in tow. I am personally grateful that this has not affected any working relationship for the future nor affected the hard work to date that has been put into Maud’s Baby Shows as a whole.
Take care

There are new features in the show, one of which being the “Bump of the Show” competition, where you can let an award winning welsh body artist transform your baby bump into a piece of art. “Kaz is extremely pleased to be succeeding in staying true to her main aim of bring practical and credible information and products to as many Welsh parents as possible and that Maud’s Baby Show remains to be viewed as a service as well as an enjoyable exhibition”. .
