Llanelli’s Baby is Coming Home!

Llanelli’s first Baby Show held in September 2008, is coming home! Organiser Kaz Deacon brought the first baby show to Llanelli two years ago and has held successful events in 2009 in Swansea, Cardiff and Carmarthen and is extremely excited about bringing Maud’s Baby Show back to where it all started.

"The first Baby Show was held as a fundraiser for Leukaemia Research, in memory of her best friend who was lost to the cancer. It was a huge success and after receiving a Heroes of Carmarthenshire Award from Llanelli's Scarlet FM & McDonalds for bringing the first ever baby show to Llanelli, Kaz has managed to grow Maud’s Baby Show in size and cover key locations in South Wales in 2009.

As well as becoming a registered member of the Welsh Assembly Breast feeding welcome scheme, Maud’s Baby Show has seen visiting parents to the events increase by around 500% and 2010 plans for the shows look to see further growth as Maud’s Baby Show expands even further afield including a North Wales venue. There are new features in the show, one of which being the “Bump of the Show” competition, where you can let an award winning welsh body artist transform your baby bump into a piece of art. “Kaz is extremely pleased to be succeeding in staying true to her main aim of bring practical and credible information and products to as many Welsh parents as possible and that Maud’s Baby Show remains to be viewed as a service as well as an enjoyable exhibition”. .

Wales’ Award Winning Baby Show, offers parenting advice and shopping all under one roof, enabling you to discover services, information and products available as you browse around 60 exhibition stands covering everything from Pregnancy, Birth, Babies to Toddlers.

Also you can expect a fantastic timetable of free workshops, including Baby & Toddler first aid sessions with The British Red Cross, Expert advice on a Baby Sleep routine from ‘the magic sleep fairy’, baby care consultant Alison Scott-Wright, Toddler workshops from Dyfed Powys Police covering saying No to strangers, Live chip pan demonstrations from Mid and West Wales Fire Service highlighting home safety (weather permitting) and many more. And there will be the chance to enter some of the free competitions and not forgetting the first 100 families each day get a free welcome goodie bag!
